The “Dream Team” is becoming a reality as Active Entities has added two dynamic industry leaders to their all-star team welcoming Mel Tempest and Stephanie Salinas as Senior Partners.

Active Entities Founder and President Bobby Verdun sees an immediate opportunity for Tempest and Salinas as the firm plans to launch a new leadership program this spring called “Active Women”. “Mel whispered the idea to us and we immediately got behind it”, states Verdun. “We’ve got two Pied Pipers in Mel and Stephanie who can, and will, create new pathways for women to be successful in the industry. They’ve both had remarkable journeys and the knowledge, business savvy, expertise, and energy they bring is so valuable.”

The additions come on the heels of Active Entities launch of several successful initiatives and dynamic programs such as “Results Assured”, “Management Matters” training programming, and the first live symposium the industry has seen in over a year to be held at the spectacular Newtown Athletic Club on May 13th. “It’s as exciting to be part of a rebirth if you will of an industry that has battled incredibly hard to come out of challenging times”, states Verdun. “We’re hearing daily from independent club owners all over the world who are eager to be better and we appreciate the opportunity to support that process”.

Mel Tempest

Mel Tempest

Tempest, an industry icon from Australia known for her hard- hitting pod casts and passionate key-note speeches, is the first IHRSA scholarship winner from Australia and a finalist for the prestigious Smart Company Award. Mel’s journey began in 2003 as she created and opened Body and Soul followed by opening Australia’s first men’s only gym WizeGuys in 2005. A consultant for business owners and operators of all levels, Mel has a unique talent for transforming business challenges into innovative solutions that deliver profitable results. “Mel stirs the heart and inspires imagination”, states Vice President Geoff Hampton. “She defines all that our industry should represent as her energy, passion for supporting others, and ability to provoke change is unmatched. She brings it, expects it, and finds it in everybody who is lucky to work with her.”

Stephanie Salinas

Stephanie Salinas senior partner at Active Entities

Stephanie Salinas is a rare find. An accomplished dancer at an early age, Stephanie’s career began at the age of 15 teaching classes at a local health club where she fell in love with the industry and sought to learn every aspect of club operations and customer service.

Salinas’ motto is simple: “It’s never NOT my job!” and the teams she’s coached reflect it. A graduate of Louisiana State University with a degree in Kinesiology and minor in business, Stephanie has led teams to wins wherever she has gone. In 2001 Stephanie was charged with developing operations teams for 6 clubs located throughout the Bay area and San Diego. This expanded to an additional 12 facilities where her attention to detail and leadership produced amazing success in a significantly competitive market. Additionally, Stephanie has been Vice President of Corporate Operations for L10Fitness and is the owner of SNS Fitness in California. “The only thing Stephanie does better than leading a team is teach HOW to lead it”, states Verdun. “Her journey has meticulously taken her thru every aspect of how to run a club successfully, and her record of success reinforces just how great she is at it.” We are very lucky to have her on our team”.
